A knit dress

A borrowed this pattern a while back, even travelled to Aust with us in my hand bag! I even had a read of it while away.

It is simplicity 2019 and part of the Sew Simple range.

Simple, yes, instructions a bit confusing. So much so I put it together just using another pattern. But now it all together I am pleased with it. I think it runs a bit large, just a little as Adele is rocking a size 5 now and this is a bit roomy. But I am sort of happy about that as it is winter I can put a long sleeve and leggings under it when she heads off to kindy. I made it out of a knit, so it is comfortable, super super comfortable. I would make myself one, if it wouldn't make me look huge!!

Adele is happy with it and that's the most important thing.

Sewing knits

I brought so much knit fabric from fabric.com. A whole lot more than one family really needs, I am very slowly making my way through it. The next couple of posts will be about my projects.

I never knew knits was hard to create with. I think having an over locker helps, but I just tacked them like any other project. Some times I even use knit when it tells me not too!

Today project, I made myself a tee shirt. My long sleeved white top also has a tee shirt version so I thought I would give that a go.

I had a just of a challenge with it. I was trying to do it too fast and I got the neck gathering all wrong so when I put it on it looked terrible. I spent a morning unpicking it and I am so glad I did. Now it look great and I can't wait to wear it. I think today is a good day!!

We have just returned from a family holiday to the Gold Coast. Was great fun, super tiring but just awesome. Might share some photos a little later.

And three

Just finished the third skirt. Lucky as we see the little cousin tomorrow. I love them but man, tonight every thing went wrong. Ruffles stitched together, cut my finger, bobbin all messed up. Not a super fun experience but how cute are these girls going to be. Real blood, sweat and tears shed!!

I hope the mummy lets me share a photo of them all together.

A little bit Retro

Well not really but sort of. I can't even remember where I acquired this pattern from but I think it is from the 80's. This is the second time I have made it and I just love it. I loved it so much the first time round that I wore holes in the top. Not just one hole either, many. I threw it away last winter and knew that another just had to be made. I am thinking another one as well. But first, one...

It is a lovely, super fine knit from Fabric.com. My over locker hated it. Didn't really sew it together all that well, but it is still great. I just need to hem it. I am going to put elastic in the bottom. The pattern has a tie, last time I did the elastic thing too and it works well. So why change it? Plus I put cuffs on the sleeves. I find it gives everything a nice baggy feel, but the drappy knit fabric sits really nice as so not to make you look like you are dressed in a bag.

See, look how old this looks!
